Facelift:Surgery, Recovery, and More

Facelift is the most common medical operation for wrinkles removal. It has become very popular among the people in the 20th century. The medical name of facelift is Rhytidectomy. There are many ways to execute such operations. They differ on three main factors, such as the face area, where the operation is done, the invasiveness and the type of incision.
All the medical surgeons, practicing facelift have different approach for such operations. The surgeon acknowledges the best options for one patient, during the consultation. Every patient has different health status and needs, that`s why the consultation is very important for the doctor to understand and manage the patient`s needs for such operation.
Besides all types of facelift, there is a traditional Rhytidectomy, in which the incision is made on the face from the ear to the hairline. The facelift takes usually up to 3.5 hours. There is a type of the operation which takes no more than2.5 hours. It is called MACS facelift. In the MACS facelift the operation has minimal incision and the features of the face are elevated, by suspending from above. Frankly, the MACS facelift leaves a small scar on the patients` faces, as they are in front of the ear, instead of behind, and thus the patient could easily hide it.
Another type of Rhytidectomy is the Skin-only facelift. It`s very popular among beginners in such medical interventions, mostly because it has fewer side effects and complications. In the skin-only facelift, only the skin of the patients` faces is lifted. Practically the skin lacks elasticity, so the results of the facelift last only from 6 to 12 months.
According to some surveys, as of 2011th the facelift operation was among the most popular aesthetic surgery. It`s a very popular way for makeover, mostly among women.
